Why Speed and Precision Matter in Home Robotics
In a factory, a robot arm moving a fraction of a second late barely matters. In a kitchen with kids running around, that same delay is the difference between helpful and hazardous. Home robotics has to be judged by a completely different standard than industrial automation.
Precision Over Raw Power
We optimize less for strength and more for control. A robot that can grip a glass firmly enough to hold it, but gently enough not to crack it, is solving a harder engineering problem than one built purely for speed or lifting capacity.
Responsiveness People Can Feel
Precision isn't only about the robot's own movements. It's also about how quickly it reacts to a person nearby, a hand reaching for the same object, or a pet wandering underfoot. Those split-second adjustments are what make a robot feel safe to share space with, rather than something to work around.
“The best compliment we get isn't 'that's fast.' It's 'I forgot it was even there.'”
That kind of quiet reliability is what actually earns a permanent spot in someone's home, far more than any headline speed or strength number ever could.
